Adult Music Lessons
Weekly private music lessons
How often are lessons?
Lessons are at a recurring weekly time slot.
Consistent weekly lessons are key to our student's musical success.
Even if you didn't get to practice, still come to your lesson - don't lose ground on the progress you've made! Our teachers will meet you where you are :)
What is the cost and length of lessons?
The lesson length that is ideal will depend on the age of the student and their goals.
For young beginning students under the age of 10, a thirty-minute is ideal.
For older or more advanced students, we generally recommend a longer lesson time to allow time for more questions, discussions, and cover more repertoire.

30 minutes: $136/month
- Great for beginners or young students

45 minutes: $204/month
- Ideal for teens, or intermediate students

60 minutes: $272/month
- Perfect for adults or intermediate/advanced students

A one-time registration fee of $35 is due at the time of registration.

What if I need to miss a lesson?

While we do not offer private makeup classes, we do offer several options to ensure you never miss out on the joy of learning!

For any lessons the student has to miss, we have FOUR makeup options!
1. Attend a small 1-hour group makeup class at any time
2. Request a pre-recorded lesson
3. Take your lesson online
4. Give your lesson time to friend or family member!
What Styles Do You Teach?

We have over 20 teachers with training in various styles of music, from classical, to pop, folk, rock, and jazz.

In lessons you or your student will learn:

-
How to read sheet music (if desired/relevant)
-
Music Theory as it applies to your music and instrument
-
Proper technique
-
Introduction to a range of music and styles
-
Performance
What progress should I expect?

Your learning path will be customized by your teacher to fit your goals and/or keep building upon the experience you already have.

While everyone learns and understands musical concepts at a different pace, here is a general guideline for the progress beginning students should expect to make:

-
During your first few months, lessons will be all about setting the foundation. Lessons are generally focused on the basics of technique and usually an introduction to note reading and rhythms.
-
After 3 months, a beginning student should be able to read easy sheet music, understand simple rhythms, play with a steady beat, and have completed several songs.
-
After 6 months, students should be starting to have relative ease with reading their sheet music and starting to master basic techniques and coordination and may begin branching into learning music of interest in addition to the method books, depending on what your teacher has you working out of.
Do I need an instrument?
Yes, you will need to have your own instrument to bring to lessons.

Most instruments are not too expensive to buy used from a local shop, or to rent. Just ask us for recommendations for your instrument!
But what if...
We've often heard reasons why a student thinks they can't learn an instrument:
-
My fingers are... too short, too long, and even too fat!
-
Too old
-
No time
-
I have... learning difficulties, short memory, bad eyesight
But we're here to tell you that very little will prevent you from being able to learn an instrument if it's your wish.
Let us help you overcome your barriers and make music for yourself!
